Archway Street/ Barnes
This project located in the ‘Little Chelsea’ area of Barnes involved the refurbishment, reconfiguration and extension of a Victorian terraced cottage. The property was in need of reconfiguration to provide a more open plan and efficient layout, more suited to modern family living. This was provided by opening up the ground floor front to back and inserting a zinc wrapped, light filled ground floor kitchen/ dinning extension as well as two loft bedrooms and ensuite shower room. The Interior was cleverly designed by Fiona Wallace of FWD. She created an organic ‘London meets Balearics’ feel utilising natural wooden elements combined with Micro Cement and curves to soften and complement the angular architectural features. A new take on the original string-on-string staircase was installed to serve the reconfigured levels.
