Bourne Street/ Belgravia
This project involved the refurbishment, reconfiguration and extension of a Georgian ‘workers’ cottage located in Belgravia. The property needed reconfigured to provide a more efficient layout, offering open plan, contemporary living, this was provided by adding a front to back basement extension and a light filled ground floor kitchen extension. Our proposal utilized an industrial/minimal palette of materials, contrasting graphic elements and a repetition of linear pattern detailing throughout. Key elements include the blackened steel staircase, sliding ‘Critical’ screens, reeded glazing panels, oak joinery and oversized flat roof lights.
The master bedroom furthermore utilities a historic feature of these Georgian properties – the hidden butterfly roof space has been exposed internally offering a dramatic master suite at first floor.
